WHAT IS iLASIK?

There’s a new standard for laser vision correction that’s making things easy for physicians (just ask for AMO®) and patients (just ask for the iLASIK procedure). The iLASIK solution is the unprecedented combination of IntraLase® technology and the Advanced CustomVue® procedure. Quite simply, this one-of-a-kind blend of technology yields clinical benefits at every step. At Davis Vision, we never take a one-size-fits-all approach to our patient’s needs for vision correction. With iLASIK, we customize the procedure for the needs of each patient. We specialize in using the latest, state-of-the-art technology for this iLASIK procedure in order to offer our patients the best the industry can offer.

IntraLase Technology:

IntraLase technology gives you the capability to precision-design your patient’s intracorneal architecture in terms of diameter, depth, edge angle and morphology — creating the optimal stromal bed for the iLASIK refractive procedure.

Advanced CustomVue Procedure:

The Advanced CustomVue procedure is a customized laser vision correction procedure designed to correct the unique imperfections of the patients’ eyes. Through the use of WaveScan® technology, Advanced CustomVue is able to deliver an accurate and effective treatment. The revolutionary Fourier algorithms enable WaveScan to deliver the highest resolution available, resulting in the most accurate and individualized treatment possible for the widest range of indications. Advanced CustomVue is also the only procedure to offer Iris Registration, the first fully automated method of aligning and registering wavefront correction, helping to ensure precision and accuracy.

Laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis (LASIK) can only be performed by a trained physician and is specified for reduction or elimination of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism as indicated within the product labeling. Laser refractive surgery is contraindicated for patients: a) with collagen vascular, autoimmune, or immunodeficiency diseases; b) who are pregnant or nursing women; c) with signs of keratoconus or abnormal corneal topography; d) who are taking one or both of the following medications: Isotretinoin (Accutane) and Amiodarone hydrochloride (Cordarone). Potential side effects to laser refractive surgery may include glare, dry eye, as well as other visual anomalies. LASIK requires the use of a microkeratome that cuts a flap on the surface of the cornea, potential side effects may include flap related complications. Consult with your eye care professional and Patient Information Booklet regarding the potential risks and benefits for laser refractive surgery, results may vary for each individual patient.
